Health Futures Australia is setting up a branch in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, where local public health changemaker Jacinda Roberts is taking up the role of Health Futures Lead Central Australia.
Our role is supporting, inspiring and most importantly enabling systems change for health and wellbeing outcomes. Jacinda brings a wealth of experience in health systems, communities and government and is a long-term resident of Alice Springs. “Jacinda is just what is needed to challenge the status quo, for example in unhealthy food systems and build an alternative way so we can get to needed health impact and there is no greater place for Health Futures to
operate and add population health value with existing orgs, stakeholders and services than Alice”, said Dr Shelley Bowen, CEO.
Jacinda will focus on a start-up phase for Health Futures, meeting with stakeholders and communities and scoping where best HFA can add value and strength to the population health effort. Our focus will initially be on food systems, and the possibility of sparking innovative ways to change food in key settings whilst at the same time creating jobs and learning in that healthy food system.
